PLEASE READ THESE TERMS OF SERVICE CAREFULLY. BY USING OUR WEBSITE, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use our website.
1. Medical Disclaimer & Scope of Practice
Acupuncture needles are FDA-regulated Class II medical devices. Ronen Rosenblatt Nir is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in Israel, currently in the process of licensure recognition in the United States. Florida credentials will be published upon issuance. Acupuncture is used to complement, not replace, conventional medical treatment.
What We DO NOT Do:
- Diagnose medical conditions (medical diagnosis is reserved for licensed physicians)
- Prescribe medications
- Treat emergency medical conditions (heart attack, stroke, severe trauma)
- Replace emergency room evaluation
- Replace surgery, physical rehabilitation, or other medical treatments
- Guarantee specific outcomes or cure any condition
What We DO:
- Conduct thorough health assessments using Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostic methods
- Develop personalized acupuncture treatment plans
- Perform acupuncture needle insertion and retained needling
- Provide cupping, moxibustion, and other complementary modalities (as clinically appropriate)
- Offer lifestyle and nutritional guidance based on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles
- Coordinate care with your other healthcare providers (with your permission)
- Provide you with information and education about acupuncture and health
Individual results vary. Acupuncture does not work the same way for everyone. Some patients experience rapid improvement; others require more time. Some patients do not respond to acupuncture.
2. Assumption of Risk & Medical Conditions
By scheduling an appointment, you acknowledge that:
- You understand acupuncture involves insertion of thin needles into your skin
- You are aware of potential risks and side effects (see Section 3 below)
- You assume all risks associated with acupuncture treatment
- You have disclosed all medical conditions, medications, allergies, and health history to us
- You will inform us immediately of any changes in your health or medications between appointments
You must disclose: Pregnancy or suspected pregnancy, bleeding disorders, immunocompromised conditions, pacemakers, recent surgery, medications (especially blood thinners), allergies, anxiety about needles, or any other health condition that might affect treatment.
Failure to disclose relevant health information may result in injury and releases us from liability for complications arising from undisclosed conditions.
3. Potential Risks & Side Effects of Acupuncture
While acupuncture is generally safe when performed by a licensed practitioner, potential risks and side effects include:
Common Side Effects (usually mild and temporary):
- Minor bleeding or bruising at needle sites
- Slight soreness or aching at needle insertion sites
- Temporary dizziness or lightheadedness
- Temporary fatigue or relaxation
- Temporary worsening of symptoms before improvement (detoxification response)
Rare but Serious Complications:
- Infection at needle site (prevented by sterile, single-use needles)
- Nerve damage or neurological injury
- Pneumothorax (collapsed lung, if needles placed too deep in chest area)
- Internal organ injury (rare when performed by trained practitioner)
- Allergic reaction (to needle material or topical substances, extremely rare)
- Syncope (fainting) — more common in anxious patients or those with needle phobia
We minimize these risks by: Using only sterile, single-use needles; maintaining proper sanitation; practicing correct needle placement; taking thorough health histories; and referring you to emergency care if serious complications occur.
If you experience severe pain, shortness of breath, chest pain, severe bleeding, or signs of infection (fever, increasing redness, warmth) after treatment, seek immediate medical attention.
